Sprouting Hope for Doc

Yesterday, we welcomed Doc (formerly known as Glock) to Young at Heart. This 13-year-old Pomeranian mix was found tied to a pole, but thanks to the people who made sure he got to safety, his story is taking a much kinder turn.

Doc is settling into his cozy space in ISO and has already proven himself to be a certified cutie patootie. He melts right into your arms when you hold him, and while he was a little unsure at first, he quickly curled up in a soft bed and got comfortable.

Gentle, curious, and very sweet… it sure doesn’t take long to fall for this little guy. 😘

He’s already received his full intake exam, and today’s pathology results confirmed lil Doc has advanced kidney disease. Our veterinary team has already started him on IV fluids, and we’ll be monitoring his kidney values closely in the days ahead.

For now, we’ll do what we do best by loving him up, holding out hope, and showing him he’s part of a big, huge family who loves him very much.

We’re so grateful that Doc is safe and finally getting the care he deserves, and we’re incredibly thankful for our supporters who make it possible for dogs like Doc to land somewhere safe when they need it most.
