Learn About Our Volunteer Sanctuary Program

As a senior pet rescue, we understand that one of the biggest obstacles adopters face when considering an older animal is the cost of vet care. Many people adore senior pets, and many people want to welcome an older dog or cat into their home. But with the rising prices of just about everything, people simply can’t.

That is part of the reason we started our Sanctuary Program.

Our Sanctuary Program allows us to financially support our needier senior pets for the rest of their lives. Senior pets like the sweethearts pictured in this post. We provide seniors who qualify for the Sanctuary Program with whatever they need – veterinary care, food, supplies, meds – all while they get to indulge in the comforts of a warm, loving home. That warm, loving home could be yours! 

As a Sanctuary home for Young at Heart, you would act as a permanent foster family to a senior pet who needs a safe place to live out their golden years. You provide the love and shelter, we provide the rest! Our Sanctuary homes are crucial to our mission. Not only do they offer life-long security and comfort to a deserving senior dog or cat, but they also create more space for those older pets who are still waiting for a second chance.

Since our Sanctuary families are expected to travel to our adoption center & vet clinic, we are currently seeking loving Sanctuary homes within a 20-mile radius of Woodstock, IL.
