I’m Nova! I have been a part of Young at Heart’s Sanctuary Program since I was rescued in February 2022. YAH knew I was Heartworm+, but they didn’t expect me to be so sick on the day I arrived. Refusing to lose me on the very first day of my new life, YAH rushed me to the ER where the docs removed the fluid in my abdomen and got me fixed right up. I was also able to see the cardiologist who started me on my Heartworm treatment.

Several months later, through a very long and restrictive treatment, I was finally deemed Heartworm negative!

In an ideal world, I would find a Sanctuary Foster Home of my own. But I am a very anxious girl who is terrified of strangers. I am a flight risk, and I’m not exactly housebroken either. After spending all my treatment time with Young at Heart, the staff became my family. They accept me as I am, and I appreciate their patience and understanding more than I can say. I am home here, and I am loved by so many. I couldn’t ask for better!
