Meet Luna — A Sweet Girl Ready to Be Someone’s Princess

Luna is approximately 6 years old and has quite a story behind those soulful eyes. She was adopted from the San Diego Humane Society in 2022 after spending part of her early life as a street dog in Tijuana, Mexico.

Those early years weren’t easy. Luna often went hungry, which is probably why she remains extremely food-motivated today. She survived by eating whatever she could find, including trash and cans, and more than eight of her teeth have had to be removed because of the damage and wear from that difficult time.

Despite everything she went through, Luna grew into an incredibly friendly, good-natured and devoted dog.

She currently lives peacefully in a busy household with three dogs and five cats and is friendly and tolerant of other animals and children. She can, however, become territorial with female dogs around her own size. For that reason, Luna’s dream home would be one where she can finally be the only dog — and enjoy being the princess of the house.

Luna is smart, calm and wonderful to have around. She walks nicely, can be groomed without a problem and loves her dog bed, treats and chew toys. She is devoted to her family and has just enough watchdog instinct to let you know when someone has arrived at the door.

Because of her past, Luna does have a few fears. Yelling, fly swatters and bathtubs make her nervous, so she deserves a home where she will be treated gently and patiently. And after coming from sunny Southern California, she has made it quite clear that rain and cold weather are not her idea of a good time.

Luna is allergic to flea bites and has a history of skin allergies, although she has been symptom-free for the past two years.

She is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations.

Luna has already survived the hardest chapter of her life. Now she deserves the easy one: a soft bed, plenty of treats, people who adore her and a home where she can finally be someone’s one-and-only canine princess.
