How to Adopt

Young at Heart is a cage-free facility. All meet & greets/adoptions are by apointment with an approved application. If you prefer a masked adoption appointment, please just let us know. Your comfort is important to us!

Pet Adoption Requirements

  • Be 21 years of age
  • Have landlord's permission to have a pet (we will check!)
  • Have taken good care of any current or previous pets! Pets must have received regular wellness visits and received veterinarian recommended preventatives and diagnostics (Heartworm tests and preventatives, bloodwork, etc.)
  • Have an ID with current address
  • Have an adoption application approved by a Young at Heart adoption team member
  • Must live within 150 miles of Woodstock IL

Cat Adoption Fee: $100 Dog Adoption Fee: $200
Adopters age 65 or older receive a 50% discount on adoption fees.

Fill Out An Application

Fill out an application online. The approval process can take up to 3 days during a normal work week.

Schedule Meet & Greet

When your application is approved, you’ll schedule your appointment to meet the pet(s) you are interested in.

If your meeting goes well and all parties agree it’s a good match, you’re ready to welcome your new family member home!
